Open Question: If i have the choice, Should i get a Root Canal Or Just pull the one tooth?

Ok well im gonna have to get some work on my broken first molar and its pretty bad..
im wondering if i should get it pulled or just a root canal?
P.S. my tooth is half broke to the gum line.
