Discount Dental Plan History
Thirty years ago the dental discount concept was just an idea. Most Kentucky employees had dental insurance with their company health insurance plan. In the late 80s Dennis and Daniel Bloom started a discount dental plan with a group of 30 Dentists in Dallas, Texas. Members of the dental plan, simply paid a discount dental fee at the time of service. The dental patient saved significantly on their dental bills and the Dentist got paid at the time of service. The dental office was not required to submit claims and wait to be paid by the dental insurance company.

The discount dental concept became so popular that the Bloom Brothers incorporated Ameriplan® and expanded the dental plan both nationwide, and in Kentucky. Today there are over 30,000 Dentists in the USA that take the AmeriPlan® Discount Card. Many Dentists in Kentucky accept the discount dental card, providing their services to help Kentucky residents keep their smile.
