Find A Nearby Henderson General Dentist
If you live in one of the four main cities within the sprawling Las Vegas Valley - Boulder City, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Las Vegas itself – there are probably many dental clinics near where you work or live.
*** Hidden Dental Practices ***
Depending on where you live and how much you drive, odds are there are many private dental clinics close by that you don’t know about.
That’s because even though there is such a large number of dentists in the valley, their offices may be off the main drag or blended-into modern look-alike strip-mall architecture.
*** The Phone Book ***
Of course, there’s always the phone book.
In fact, the Las Vegas Valley Embark Yellow Pages has 66 pages of listings for dentists!
So, good luck using the phone book to find a local dental office.
It’s unfortunate perhaps, but the internet is quickly making the phonebook obsolete.
And also, only dental practices that pay large sums of money (thousands a year) get the large, full or half-page multi-colored yellow page ads that get a far better response rate.
The normal listings are all but a waste of money.
However, bear in mind that the biggest ad doesn’t win, as far as ad size and quality of care are concerned.
Don’t be led astray…
*** The Big Valley ***
Another thing to realize is that the Las Vegas Valley encompasses a vast amount of real estate.
In fact, it’s right at 600 square miles with around 65 zip codes.
Most people don’t settle for the first dentist they find, like they don’t become a member of the first church they happen across. Normally, some effort is required to find the “perfect fit”.
Meaning, that people will normally drive out of their way to get what they really desire.
*** Driving And Stress ***
But clearly, the average person wants to drive as little as possible to run their errands in the expansive Las Vegas valley.
Considering that most people don’t like going to the dentist in the first place, having a long, hot and stressful drive before a dental appointment is not unlike rubbing salt into a wound.
Ok, so closer is better for most people.
But again, how do you choose a local dentist?
*** Use The Internet ***
With the exception of a personal referral from family or friend, your best research tool is the internet.
Ok, to recap, there are four cities in a 600 square mile area with 65 zip codes and more than 1,200 dentists.
Where should you start?
Open your favorite search engine’s home page. Ours is Google.
*** Use The Right Search Terms ***
Type something like this into the search box: local dentist, or find Las Vegas Geriatric Dentist.
If you are in need of a specialist, you can use terms like these: North Las Vegas Periodontist or Boulder City children’s dentist.
The advancements in search technology now allow the major engines to auto-display listings for your local area without you telling them where you live.
You can try this out by just typing something like: find a family dentist, local children’s dentist or even just the root term itself, like: root canal specialist or holistic dentist.
Also, with most search engines, you can just type in a term and your zip code to get focused regional results.
From there, you can also use the maps function to see exactly where a specific listing is in proximity to your home or work.
While in maps view, you can get driving directions and distances, as well.
So, try search terms similar to the following to get ultra targeted: Orthodontist 88905 , cosmetic dentist 89081 or you might even try something like: whiter teeth 89129.
Don’t bother with filler words, because the search engines ignore them.
Most people enter complete sentences. But actually, Google (and other search engines) perform more efficiently without the use of non-relevant filler words.
*** The Search Listings ***
There’s something you should know as you go internet searching for a local dentist, though.
The web is full of poor quality sites, including the majority of dental sites.
A great number of dental related sites are poorly constructed commercial directories that list only a select few dentists.
In other words, only those dentists who have paid the site owner for a listing will be found on these directory types of sites.
Obviously, this excludes most of the clinics in the valley – including ones near you.
Things are getting better online, however, as the search engines refine their listings and a growing number of dentists have their own sites.
Unfortunately, the average dentist can only be found several pages deep in search engine listings for common terms like those given earlier.
*** It’s All About Marketing ***
In other words, they are as invisible on the web as their offices seem to be in the community.
Now, to be fair, a dental education doesn’t normally include instruction in internet marketing.
By now you see how despite the technology available, locating an acceptable nearby dental office can take some time and effort.
In the end, it’s only those dental practices who effectively place and market themselves within the community who are the most successful.
It’s those well-marketed practices who also enjoy the increased benefits of free referrals via word-of-mouth from satisfied existing patients.
